Domestic Violence
Domestic Violence occurs when one individual in a domestic relationship uses a pattern of coercive tactics to gain power and control over another individual in the same relationship or domestic situation. Tactics used are in the form of threats, intimidation, fear, guilt, and shame which wear down the victim and eventually give the abuser control.
Domestic Violence or DV is also known as domestic abuse, spousal abuse, or intimate partner violence.
Domestic Violence is not discriminatory. It occurs in all ages, genders, ethnic backgrounds, financial levels and partner choice.
