Sexual Assault
Sexual violence is an all encompassing phrase that describes multiple crimes relating to inappropriate sexual attention, such as sexism, sexual harassment, sexual assault, molestation, incent, and rape.
- Sexism – Oppression that objectifies women as 2nd class citizens and upholds makes as the dominant gender
- Harassment – Unwanted and unwelcome sexual attention that interferes with your life, work, or education
- Molestation – Inappropriate touching, exposure, or comments inflicted on a child by an adult or another child
- Assault – Sexual acts conducted against someone’s will by force, threats, coercion, or on a person unable to consent
- Incest – Sexual acts (usually against someone’s will perpetrated by a family member, which is someone too close in relation to marry
- Rape – Forced sexual intercourse, including vaginal, anal, or oral penetration. Penetration may be by a body part or an object
